Britons have reacted to King Charles’s cancer diagnosis as the monarch begins treatment for “a form of cancer”.
Announcing his latest health update to the public on Monday, King Charles revealed through Buckingham Palace that he was diagnosed following his recent trip to The London Clinic hospital.
The King was receiving treatment for an “enlarged prostate” last week when the cancer was discovered by doctors.
In his statement, the King reassured supporters that he is “wholly positive” about his treatment and will be cancelling “all public-facing duties” until he is fully recovered.

Prince Harry has since flown to the UK to be with his father following the diagnosis.
The Duke of Sussex arrived at Heathrow Airport on Tuesday afternoon and was given a police escort into central London, where he will be reunited with the Royal Family.
Reacting to the news of the King’s health, residents of Margate sent their well wishes to the monarch.
Speaking to GB News reporter Theo Chikomba, royal fans “wished him all the best” and sent “prayers of good health” to the reigning King.

One local said: “It is concerning because he’s only just come to the throne. And with Princess Kate being ill, it is a bit worrying for the Royal Family.
“Particularly in these turbulent days, and I wish them all well, we need a Royal Family. They bring a lot of money into the UK and it’s the reason a lot of people come to visit this country too.”
Another pensioner admitted he has suffered with prostate problems himself, and expressed well wishes for King Charles.
He said: “I think he was fortunate enough to have found the problem and it’s good he’s going public about it. It raises awareness.

“Fortunately they did the operation, because they found something else. He’s very lucky on that basis – I’ve had prostate problems myself, so I know it can happen to anybody.”
Other locals expressed their frustrations for the wait times facing the NHS, as the King revealed in his statement that he is undergoing cancer treatment immediately.
One woman told GB News: “The NHS is very good, but it’s too crowded now with too small for too much amount of people.
“King Charles will be all right because he’d be first in the queue. But I think other people that have something serious have to wait and wait and wait.
“My husband broke his shoulder, and he’s been waiting for ages for injections. So it’s a wonderful service, but just not big enough now for the amount of people that need it.”
