Radio star Steve Wright, who died on Monday, was found at his home after paramedics were called to an “incident,” reports have claimed.
The 69-year-old’s family announced his death on Tuesday afternoon but no details surrounding the circumstances have been released.
It’s now been suggested emergency services were called to Wright’s home in central London on the morning of February 12, where he was found dead.
A London ambulance spokesperson told Mail Online: “We were called at 10.07am on Monday 12 February to reports of an incident.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene. Very sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Metro went on to report that Wright’s death was “unexpected but is not being treated as suspicious,” according to police.

Wright’s family announced the sad news on Tuesday, reflecting on their “deep sorrow and profound regret”.
The statement read: “In addition to his son, Tom, and daughter, Lucy, Steve leaves behind his brother, Laurence and his father Richard.
“Also, much-loved close friends and colleagues, and millions of devoted radio listeners who had the good fortune and great pleasure of allowing Steve into their daily lives as one of the UK’s most enduring and popular radio personalities.
“As we all grieve, the family requests privacy at this immensely difficult time.”

Many famous faces went
on to pay tribute to the Radio 2 star, with several taking to social media to express
their shock and sadness.
Radio 2 presenter Sara
Cox tearfully explained: “It’s really hard to know what to say about the
news of Steve Wright’s passing, except we are all shocked and devastated and
blindsided by this news.
“Steve was an extraordinary broadcaster, a really
kind person, he was witty, he was warm, and he was a huge, huge part of the
Radio 2 family, and I know my fellow DJs will all be absolutely shattered
too.”
Meanwhile,
BBC director general Tim Davie also honoured the late star, adding: “All
of us at the BBC are heartbroken to hear this terribly sad news. Steve was a
truly wonderful broadcaster who has been a huge part of so many of our lives
over many decades.”

Davie continued: “He was the ultimate professional – passionate about the craft of radio and deeply in touch with his listeners.
“This was deservedly recognised in the New Year Honours list with his MBE for services to radio.
“No-one had more energy to deliver shows that put a smile on audiences’ faces. They loved him deeply. We are thinking of Steve and his family and will miss him terribly.”
Other close pals such as Jeremy Vine, Richard Hammond, Matt Lucas and many more honoured Wright’s life with shared tributes to the veteran broadcaster.
