
Barclays is set to close even more bank branch closures this year, just days after announcing 20 sites would shut.
In the latest wave of closures, the bank will shut 20 sites.
The bank said it needs to “adapt” amid a fall in the number of branch visits.
Including previously announced closures, Barclays will shut 68 branches in 2024 and six in 2025.

A Barclays spokesperson said: “As visits to branches continue to fall, we need to adapt to provide the best service for all our customers.
“Where there is no longer enough demand to support a branch, we maintain an in-person presence though our Barclays Local network, live in over 300 locations, based in libraries, town halls, mobile vans and our banking pods.”
Barclays has closed 1,140 branches since 2015, according to Which?.
It means it’s the individual bank that has reduced its network the most, the consumer champion said.
Barclays announced 20 bank branch closures earlier this month.
