Bargain Hunt star Charles Hanson has been given a trial date after he pleaded “not guilty” to assault and coercive behaviour charges against his wife.
The 46-year-old auctioneer has been accused of seven offences against wife Rebecca Hanson after police were called to his home last June.
The TV personality, who has also made appearances on other BBC shows Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip, issued his plea at Derby Crown Court.
It’s reported the charges allegedly took place between 2015 up to June of last year, when officers arrived at the home he shared with his wife.
The well-known expert is charged with controlling or coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in May 2020, as well as two counts of assault by beating.
He previously denied all charges and re-appeared in court on Wednesday, February 7, to issue his plea.

According to reports, he spoke only to confirm his name and enter his plea. A provisional trial date was set for a year’s time on February 10, 2025.
It was reported in December that Hanson would not be appearing on any BBC shows in the “imminent future”.
According to MailOnline, a source claimed Hanson is no longer classed as a BBC employee and will not appear in any upcoming shows.
Express.co.uk reported last year that a spokesperson for Derbyshire Police stated: “The force was called to reports of a domestic incident at an address in Church Road, Quarndon in June (2023).

“A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of assault and was released on police bail while enquiries continued.”
In December, Hanson’s representatives released a statement on behalf of the antiques expert.
It read: “I deny all of the charges. I have never behaved aggressively or unlawfully towards my family.
“We have been through some difficult times in our marriage and it is extremely sad that this has become a criminal matter.

Hanson had starred in Bargain Hunt since 2002, where he was the youngest expert on the popular show.
During his time on the programme, he’s been acting as an adviser to contestants hoping to find unique antiques for the best price.
