He said he used to run outside but now will go on the treadmill for two or three miles.
Exercise, such as walking, can reduce the chances of dying early, according to a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Network Open.
The research looked at around 3,000 participants to find those who walked at least 8,000 steps one or two days a week were 14.9 per cent less likely to die during a 10-year period.
Those who walked at least 8,000 steps on three to seven days of the week were 16.5 per cent less likely to die.
Another key factor for a long life, according to the expert, is a positive attitude.
He said staying happy and having a good home and work life can be great for longevity.
“Stay happy. Enjoy your family life, if you’re as lucky as I am, and enjoy your work,” he told the mindbodygreen podcast.
“You’ve got to stay happy in your work.”

He added they can keep their brains sharp as they age by taking up a new hobby, learning a skill or volunteering.
This comes as a doctor shared eating more of one food group can boost longevity.
