There are currently two different sessions coming up – one for benefits for people over state pension age and another which focuses on help with the Attendance Allowance claim form.

The “Unlock your entitlements: benefits for people over State Pension age” workshop takes place on Wednesday February 7 between 10am and 12pm.

The “Attendance Allowance: completing the form” session runs on March 26, 10am to 11.30am.

Age Scotland says people should click on the chosen date on their website to sign up on Eventbrite.

Attendees will be sent joining instructions 24 hours prior to the session.

Benefits for people over state pension age

This workshop aims to raise awareness of the common benefits that support older people, Age Scotland said.

This includes information on Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction.

The charity said the workshop will address the main rules, how to make a claim and “what to do if something goes wrong”.

Attendance Allowance: completing the form

This session is aimed at helping people who intend to fill out an Attendance Allowance form, whether that’s for themselves or on behalf of someone else.

“It will give you information, strategies and tips to make the process more simple and less daunting,” Age Scotland said.
